He was a member of the Democratic party and the 39th president of the U.S. He served as U.S. president from 1977 to 1981. He was the first U.S. president to reach 100 years of age. Before becoming the U.S. president, he also served for one term as governor of Georgia. He tried to find solutions to various international problems by truly supporting human rights, reducing the USA's dominant role in the world, and normalizing relations with rival communist countries like China and the USSR.
